The Citizens Scholarship Foundation of Mansfield has applications available online and at Mansfield High School. Recipients are selected primarily based on financial need. All applicants must file a FAFSA to be eligible for consideration. Applications must be received by April 18, 2008. To download an application go to www.mansfieldschools.com/CSF/.
Foxboro Cable Access would like to assist in furthering the educational development of any qualified Foxboro resident who is pursuing a career in the field of communications. To be eligible for consideration of the $1,000.00 award, the student's application must be received at the FCA office by May 16, 2008.
Marcus Urann Foundation Scholarship for children of cranberry growers. Applications are available in guidance and need to be returned by April 30, 2008.
Cumberland Youth Soccer Association is offering two $750.00 scholarships. Seniors applying must have participated in the CYSA soccer program as a player, referee, coach or volunteer. The application can be found at www.cysa-ri.org. The application needs to be returned by April 30, 2008.
North Attleboro Junior Football Scholarship is awarded annually to help one male and one female athlete graduating from high school. The applicant must have participated in the North Attleboro Junior Football program as a player or cheerleader for one or more seasons and is a good student and responsible school citizen. Applications must be submitted by April 4, 2008.
North Attleboro Electric Light Open has two major criterias for consideration of the scholarship.They are the projection of success in post high school study and financial need. Must be a resident of North Attleboro. Deadline is April 4, 2008.
The Rehoboth Garden Club is offering a $1,000.00 scholarship to a high school senior from Rehoboth or surrounding communities including Seekonk, Dighton, Attleboro, Bristol and East Providence. Applicant must be planning to major in some phase of natural science. This may include agricultural sciences, agronomy, botany, environmental sciences, forestry, horticulture, landscaping architecture/design, marine biology, natural resource management, plant sciences or soil and crop sciences. Completed applications must be submitted by June 30, 2008.
Easton Lions Club is awarding four $1,000.00 scholarships to Easton residents who are graduating this year from an accredited high school. Application deadline is April 7, 2008.
Future Engineers Scholarship application has been posted on the website www.ashraeboston.org. Fourteen scholarships in the amount of $2,000.00 each will be awarded. The student must be a resident of Massachusetts or attend a college in Massachusetts and is planning on pursuing an education in engineering. The deadline is May 30, 2008.
Martin School Association Scholarship is available to students from North Attleboro who attended the Martin School for at least one year. This scholarship is not based on academic performance or financial need. Applications are available in the guidance department. Completed applications need to be returned to guidance by March 31, 2008.
The Yawkey Foundation has a scholars program for students with financial need. Students must have participated in a mentoring program, excelled academically and faced significant challenges and obstacles. Scholarships of up to $20,000.00 per year will be awarded. The student must be enrolling in an accredited college or university in Massachusetts. For an application go to www.sms.scholarshipamerica.org/yawkey. Deadline is April 15, 2008.
St. Mary's Stewardship Scholarship Fund will be awarded to a member of St. Mary's parish in Mansfield. The scholarship will be awarded based on service to the parish, community and other stewardship activities. Deadline to apply is April 1, 2008. Applications are in the guidance department.
Norfolk Baseball Association will award $1,000.00 to a student who played a minimum of four spring seasons of league play in Norfolk baseball at any level. Applications are available online at www.norfolkbaseball.com. Application must be postmarked by April 5, 2008.
The Blais / Roberge Memorial Book Award is open to any boy/girl who has participated in and completed at least one year with the South Attleboro White Hawks Football League as either a football player or a cheerleader. The $500.00 award will be granted to a graduating senior who exemplifies the virtues and qualities including academic standing and community service that the league stands for. Deadline is April 3, 2008.
Massachusetts Flower Growers Association will sponsor a scholarship of up to $4,000.00. Applicant must major in a course of study in Floriculture, Horticulture or related agricultural sciences. The applicant must be a resident of Massachusetts. Application deadline is May 15, 2008.
Massachusetts Arborists Association has a scholarship for students who are enrolling full time in the four year Urban Forestry program at UMass or in the two year Arboricluture and Park Management program at the Stockbridge School of Agriculture. Deadline is May 15.
Howard and Mary Hayward Memorial Scholarship Committee is accepting essays for the 2008 scholarship for students who will be pursuing further education in agriculture, aquaculture or a related science. Application deadline is April 11, 2008.
The Community Players Scholarship was established to assist a student who will be pursuing a degree in the performing or technical performing arts. Applications may be downloaded at the website communityplayers.org.
Dunkin Donuts Scholarship is available to students in Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts. Applications are available online at www.dunkindonuts.com/scholarship. The application period runs from February 1 - March 15, 2008.
The National Kidney Foundation will award $1,000.00 to a graduating senior. Eligibility is limited to students with active and current kidney disease or who are immediate relatives of an individual with active and current kidney disease. This kidney disease must have a significant impact on the candidates life. For more information and an application go to www.kidneyhealth.org.
W. Duane Lockard Scholarship Fund to assist minority high school students in obtaining an associate degree, baccalaureate degree or certificate of training. Applications are available in guidance and need to be postmarked by April 4, 2008.
Navigant Credit Union has over $10,000.00 available in scholarship money. Students must be a member or the immediate family member of someone who belongs to the Credit Union Central Falls with an active account as of February 8,2008. Application deadline is April 2, 2008.
Rockland Trust will award five $2,500.00 scholarships to students who reside in Plymouth, Norfolk, Barnstable or Bristol County. Students should apply using the Rockland Trust Scholarship application available at all branch locations. Application deadline is April 15, 2008.
The Helen and Blanche Stark Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to a student who is interested in the field of nursing and who is a resident of Foxboro. All applications must be submitted by April 1, 2008.
The Greatrex Scholarship Fund is available to students who are residents of Foxboro. Awards range from $1,000.00-$5,000.00. Application deadline is February 15, 2008.
Citizen's Scholarship Foundation of East Providence is available to graduating seniors who are residents of East Providence. Scholarships and awards range from $1,000.00 to $2,000.00. The completed application, found in the guidance department, needs to be postmarked by March 14, 2008.
The Massachusetts Association of Insurance Women offers scholarships to graduating seniors who attend a high school in Bristol County. Completed applications must be postmarked by March 31, 2008.
Cumberland Youth Baseball/Softball League awards two scholarships to one male and one female student that participated as a player. The applicant must be presently active in CYBSL as a player, umpire, coach, league volunteer or must be a member of a high school baseball/softball team. Application deadline is April 30, 2008.
Attleboro Scholarship Foundation, Inc has been providing interest free loans for college students. The loans are offered in the amount of $1,000.00 and the student may reapply each year for a total of 4 years. Applicant must be a resident of Attleboro and complete the CSS Profile. Other scholarships offered by the Attleboro Scholarship Foundation include the Wyeth 4-H Scholarship, Leslie Lee Langille Memorial Scholarship, Attleboro Fire Fighters Scholarshipand the Rotary Scholar. Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America wishes to honor students who are role models for others who suffer from asthma and /or significant allergies. Two $1,000.00 scholarships will be awarded. Massachusetts Restaurant Association Educational Foundation will be offering scholarships up to $2,000.00 to students continuing their education in a culinary arts or restaurant/foodservice management program at the college level. National Co-op Scholarship Program is available to students who have a 3.5 GPA and must be accepted at one or more of the ten NCCE Partner Colleges and Universities. The colleges participating are Drexel University, Johnson and Wales University, Kettering University, C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University, Northeastern University, Pace University, Rochester Institute of Technology, University of Cincinnati, University of Toledo and Wentworth Institute of Technology. Applications may be submitted at www.co-op.edu. Deadline for the application is February 15, 2008.
KFC Colonel's Scholars Program was created in 2006 and is dedicated to assisting students with financial need who plan to pursue a bachelor's degree at a public institution within their legal state of residence. To qualify a student must be graduating from high school , maintain a GPA of 2.75, enrolling in a public, in state college or university, pursuing a bachelor's degree and be a US citizen. Students may complete the application at www.kfcscholars.org. The application period closes on February 15, 2008.
The National Multiple Sclerosis Society Scholarship Program will be providing college scholarships specifically to students from Massachusetts and New Hampshire. The guidelines for the scholarship are anyone with multiple sclerosis or anyone who is a child of someone with multiple sclerosis who will be attending an accredited post secondary school. Applications are available at www.nationalmssociety.org. Deadline is January 15, 2008.
Rhode Island Polonia Scholarship Foundation will award a scholarship to students of Polish American descent who are Rhode Island residents or who belong to a Rhode Island Polish American organization. Applications may be downloaded at www.polishscholarshipsri.org. Deadline is February 15, 2008.
Fall River Diocesan Council of Catholic Nurses offers a scholarship to all catholic students and members of the Fall River Diocesan Council of Catholic Nurses, their children or grandchildren in a nursing program are eligible to apply. Application deadline is March 1, 2008.
The AXA Achievement Community Scholarship. AXA Achievers are students who set and reach ambitious goals, demonstrate drive and determination, respect self, family and community and the ability to succeed in college. The Simon Youth Foundation Community Scholarship is given based on the students academic record, leadership skills, participation in school and community activities and financial data. Applications may be picked up at Emerald Square Mall or by going to www.syf.org. Applications must be received by January 31, 2008.
The Mansfield World War II Memorial Scholarship is available to Mansfield residents. Applications are available in guidance and have a deadline of April 15, 2008.
The Attleboro Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution offers scholarships from $500-$800. The deadline for submitting an application is February 1, 2008. Applications are available in the guidance department.
The Sam Walton Community Scholarship is available through www.walmartfoundation.org. See the website for general guidelines. The deadline for entry is a postmark of January 14, 2008.
The Massachusetts Junior Chamber International Senate: Two $500.00 scholarship grants to Massachusetts high school seniors who plan to continue their education at an accredited post secondary school. The full application package is available online at www.usjcisenate.org/ma.
The Humane Society of the US / Shaw-Worth Memorial Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded to a New England high school senior who has made a meaningful contribution to animal protection. Actions meriting the award may include long term, direct work on behalf of animals, inspiring leadership in animal protection organizations; papers, speeches or presentations on humane topics and heroic rescues of animals in danger. Financial need and scholastic standing is not a prerequisite. Applications may be submitted to the Humane Society, New England Regional Office, PO Box 619, Jacksonville, VT 05342 . There is no standardized application. Applications should be written in letter form and should include a narrative of the student's achievements. Documentation of the activities cited, recommendations from at least three people and a description of future plans for humane work are required. Deadline is March 17, 2008.
NAAAP-Boston Future Leaders Awards: The purpose of this scholarship program is to recognize outstanding graduating high school seniors who demonstrate the potential to become future leaders. These merit and need based scholarships are open to all Massachusetts high school seniors of Asian descent graduating in the spring of 2008. Applications are available online at www.naaapboston.org. Completed applications must be postmarked by Friday, February 1, 2008.
Henry David Thoreau Scholarship: Awards to outstanding Massachusetts high school seniors who are ready to jump into the ever evolving, interdisciplinary field of environmental studies. Download an application at www.thoreauscholar.org. Application deadline is February 1, 2008.
National Co-op Scholarship Program: Students must complete al the required admissions applications material and be accepted for the 2008-2009 academic year at one of the National Commission Partner Institutions. Must have a 3.5 GPA or better. Application can be completed online at www.co-op.edu. Application deadline is February 15, 2008.
Stephen Phillips Memorial Scholarship Fund: Offering scholarships to students with financial need who display academic excellence, strong citizenship and character, and a desire to make a meaningful contribution to society. Visit the website www.phillips-scholarship.org for the criteria and procedures to apply for the scholarship. Deadline is May 1, 2008.
McKelvey Foundation Entrepreneurial Scholarship: To qualify you must have owned your own business for at least one year, have at least one paid employee and graduate from high school in 2008. Apply online at www.mckelveyfoundation.org. Deadline is January 15, 2008.
Burger King Scholars Program offers awards of $1,000.00. To obtain information about the eligibility criteria visit www.bk.com/scholars. Applications are available online October 15, 2007-February 15, 2008.
Apply online for the Coca-Cola Scholars Program at www.coca-colascholars.org before October 31, 2007. Applicant must be a current high school senior, have a minimum 3.00 GPA at the end of their junior year and be planning on pursuing a degree at an accredited US post secondary institution.
Inspire the Future “Write On” Scholarship Contest. If you are between 13-18 and love the Patriots, simply write a 500-700 word essay about the most recent Patriots game. After every 4 game stretch on the Patriots schedule, one first place winner will receive a $5,000.00 college scholarship, two second place winners will be awarded $2,500.00 and six third place winners will receive $1,000.00 in scholarship money.
