2009

5-29-09: The boys track team finised its season undefeated, EAC Champs and the Division III State Champions!!!  The streak continues  and goes to 79 wins in a row. The last dual meet defeat came in 1999 to Attleboro. But the highlight of this season was its performance on Friday  night at the Class C Championship meet at Ipswich High School. The boys had several fine performances as we placed someone in 14 of the 18 events contested. Junior Bobby McShane was crowned the Class C Champion in the mile with a time of 4:30.15 and came back a half hour later to anchor the 4x800 with a 2:02 split, which helped that team gain a second place and a critical 8 points. Another top performance was put in by senior Jason Brown. Jason placed 3rd in the triple jump (41'10.25") and 3rd in the 110 High Hurdles (15.44) to gather in 12 points for the team effort. Senior Ethan Loew also had a big night for the Shamrocks as he place 4th in the 800 (2:00.80) and also ran a 2:03 split in the 4x800. Click here for full results

5-20-09: The boys had a good day v. Martha's Vineyard. The 400 crew of Mike Albert, Kevin Wood and Corey Casarella all ran will with times of 51.9, 52.3 and 52.6 performances. Click Here for full results.

The boys continue their streak by defeating the Raiders of Somerset by a score of 99-37. First year senior Pat Beksha set a personal best performance by tossing the discus 127'8". Tom Effler has become a consistant 180' javelin thrower with a toss of 181'6" today. Sophomore Garfield continues to improve in both the long jump and triple jump with jumps of 19'1 and 38'4". If you could mark the jump from where they take off from, he would have had a 41' jump. A little more work on the runway should improve his performances. The milers continue to improve with 6 runners going under 5:00.0 today. Senior Dave Phipps lead the way with a 4:42.0 Click here for results

All Catholic Meet After finishing as the runner up the first two years of this meet to St. John's Prep, the Shamrocks squeaked out a 109-108-106-93 victory over Boston College High school, St. John's Prep and Bishop Hendricken. Individual winners for the Rocks were junior Kevin Boland in the 100m (11.67), Junior Mike Albert 400m (51.89) and senior Tom Effler javelin 183'4" to break Mike L'Homme's school record by 1 foot. Also the 4X400 relay team gathered a gold  medal performance running a nice 3:34.90 time. The team was comprised of senior Corey Casarella, senior Dan White, junior Kevin Wood and junior Mike Albert. Win over Bishop Stang: Senior Jason Brown has a break-out meet today with three wins and a 3rd place finish in the 400 IH. His three wins were big. The first win was a huge jump in the high jump, he tied Brian Kelley's 1990 effort of 6'6" which is 2nd all time on the Feehan list. His second win was in the triple jump with a leap of 41'1" and his 3rd win came in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 15.6. Another big performance came from junior Bobby McShane when he ran 1:59.8 in the 800 meter. Senior Tom Effler moved his #2 all time performance in the javelin closer to Mke L'Homme's school record of 182'4" with a solid 180'1" performance today. Click here for full results

 

Tri Meet 4/23/09 The boys track team had a good day in a tri-meet with Brockton and Whitman-Hanson. The highlight of the day was Junior Kevin Boland's 11.3 in the 100 meter and the win. Senior Corey Casarella set the school record in the 400 Int. Hurdles with a time of 58.5. Senior Tom Effler continues his undefeated season in the javelin with a toss of 167'11" Click here to see the full results.

2008 CLASS 'C' RELAY CHAMPIONS!!!

An outstanding day for the boys track team as they captured the Class C relay championship crown by outdistancing Hingham H.S. by a score of 64 to 54. Third place went to Stoneham H. S. Wilmington was 4th and Milton rounded out the top five of 32 teams present. The Suttle Hurdle team of Jason Brown, J.P. Hendrix, Nick L'Homme and Chris Conway took home the only first place victory with a time of 62.3. The team piled up many points by taking home 6 2nd place finishes, a 4th place finish and 2 sixth place finishes. Click Here for full results.

 

5/14/08--> WOW! The meet with Brockton lived up to all of its hype. Needing to win the last race of the the day, the 4 X 400 team of Ethan Loew (55.2), Mike Albert (53.6), Dan White (54.9) and Zach Ennes (53.2) proved too much for the Boxers of Brockton by running the season's best time of 3:36.8. J.P. Hendrix (HJ--6'2" the 300IH 40.5 and a 2nd in the 110HH 15.2) and Chris Conway (100m 10.8 and 14.5 110HH 3rd LJ 19'11") both had two impressive wins and placed in one other event to pace the Shamrocks to their 9th victory of the season and extended their unbeaten streak to 71 dual meets. 5/07--> the boys ran their record to 8-0 on the season with their victory over Somerset today. J.P. Hendrix, High Jump (6-0), 110 High Hurdles (15.9), was the lone double winner. Nick L'Homme, javelin (158'3.5"), Liam Doherty javelin (135'2") and Chris Patch javelin (132'2.5") all had personal best. Bobby McShane had a good day in the 2 mile with a first time performance of 10:16.9. The Chris Conway - Mike McGowan show down in the 100 meter did not disappoint as Chris outleaned Mike with a 10.9 to 11.0 finish.

4/30---> Chris Conway had a great day on the track in today's dual meet verses Bishop Stang. Chris tied the school record in the 100 meter with a time of 10.8 equalling the time of John Fitzsimmons and Jeremy Fontaine and matching his brother Ron by clocking a time of 14.3 in the 110 meter hurdles. J.P. Hendrix also had a good day, winning two events. He won the 300 I. Hurdles in a time of 42.0 and the high jump with a clearance of 6'0". The boys team won 92-44. Click Here for Results

4/22---> The boys track team had a pretty good day in their victory over cross town rival Attleboro High School today. Nate Bowditch got the boys off to a great start by staging a come from behind victory on his way to a personal best time in the 1 mile run in a time of 4:50.4. Jason Brown had a good day by winning three events all with personal best times and distances. He won the 300 Intermediate Hurdles (41.8), Triple Jump (42'1.5") and was on the winning 4X100 meter relay (43.9). Nick Schwieger had 3 wins, one also on the 4X100 relay. His other wins came in the 100m (PR 11.0) and the long jump (19'1.25"). Tom Effler uncorked a big PR in the javelin with a throw of 176'11" as did Mynor Chacon in the shot put (46'2") (Click here for full results)

4/19---> The future of boys track and field looks good as the freshman and sophomore's had some good performances at the 13 annual Rt. 228 F-S meet hosted by Notre Dame of Hingham. Lead by Sophomore Mike Albert who placed in 3 events, the young Shamrocks scored 21 points to finish 10th out of 22 teams. In addition to Albert's 2 fourth's and 1 sixth place finish, Sophomore Kevin Boland finished 5th in the 100 m, Sophomore Will Clerx finished 5th in the 800m with a nice 2:12.87 clocking. Sophomore Bobby McShane ran a personal best time of 4:44.89 to finish 2nd in the 1-mile run. Click here for full results.

4/15---> The boys track team continues to perform well at early season meets. Junior Jason Brown had a very good meet by winning 3 events and placing second in the high jump (5'8") to teammate J.P. Hendrix (5'10:). Jason had a winning PR in the Triple jump with a leap of 41'3.5", he won the 300IH @ 42.3 and was on the winning 4X100 Relay team with a time of 44.4. Click here for Results.

4/9--->  The boys track team gained three victories today in a quad meet v. Marshfield, Weston, and Sandwich. Chris Conway was the only double winner with his victories in his specialty the 110m HH. Chris ran 15.00FAT while he long jumped 18'7.5"

4-3-08--> J.P. Hendrix and Nick Schwieger found themselves with three first place finishes in today's meet verses Malden Catholic. J.P. got off to a good start with a P.R. in the high jump with a leap of 6'2", ran a solid 42.8 in the 300IH and anchored the 4X400 relay team. Nick started his day off with a win in the long jump with a jump of 20'6", he then ran a strong 100m into a strong headwind, and anchored the 4X100 relay team with a time of 45.4.
