11/21/09: The lady Shamrocks came up with an impressive Gold Medal performance today at the All State Meet in Northfield Ma at Northfield Mountain. With a decisive 45 points, they outdistanced their closest competitor Hamilton-Wenham, by 25 points. This victory today capped off the perfect season by not losing a single meet they were entered in this year, including all invitatinals. The girls were led by junior Viviana Hanley with a superb 3rd place finish in a time of 19:20 on this tough 5k course. Viviana was closely followed by senior Erin Murphy. Erin finished 8th in a time of 19:47. In 15th was sophomore Erin Svensen who ran 20:19 and in 16th was senior Anisa Arseneault with a time of 20:22. In 28th place was senior Jen Thomas in 20:47. Rounding out the top seven were sophomores Katie Powell 46th in 21:20 and in 47th sophomore Abby MacBeth in 21:22. The girls will travell to Wappingers Falls, New York next Saturday to compete in the Nike Northeast Regional Qualifying meet. Ranked 3rd in the region, by finishing in the top two, they would win and all expenses paid trip to Portland, Oregon to take place in the Nike National Championship. Go Shamrocks!!!!
11/21/09: Also have a great day were the Shamrock men. Their Silver Medal performance was outstanding, considering that the best anyone had them picked to finish was 4th. The boys ran a tough and gutsy race to score 95 points. The very good Pembroke team scored a low score of 37 points, but the Shamrocks far outdistanced the 3rd place team, Seekonk, who scored 142 points. The Rocks were led by senior Bobby McShane who finished 8th overall in a time of 17:02. The next three finishers were also seniors. Alex Murray (26th - 17:32), Tim Gill (29th - 17:35) and Will Clerx (33rd - 17:37) all had very impressive races. Placing 44th overall and 5th for the boys was junior Kevin O'Brien with a time of 17:50. The 48 second gap between our 1st and 5th runners was critical in todays outstanding placement. Rounding out the top seven were junior Tom Marcotte (63rd - 18:07) and senior Peter Corkery (85th - 18:36). The boys also will be attending the Nike Northeast Regionals in Wappingers Falls. Great job by all.
11/14/09: The girls Cross Country team won their 5th consecutive and 7th in 8 years MIAA Division III Eastern Mass Championship. The girls had a low score of 40 points. We had 7 in the top 21 of the 243 total runners. The team was lead by junior Viviana Hanley (2nd 19:20), senior Erin Murphy (3rd 19:30), sophomore Erin Svensen (7th 20:01), senior Anisa Arseneault (9th 20:20), senior Jen Thomas (19th 21:01), sophomore Katie Powell (20th 21:07) and sophomore Abbey MacBeth (21st 21:09).
11/14/09: The boys cross country team finished a strong 2nd at the MIAA Division III Eastern Mass Championship. Pembroke High School scored an impressive 34 points to our 85. However, our 85 outdistanced 3rd place Marblehead's 158. The team was led by senior Bobby McShane (5th 17:00) senior Tim Gill (13th 17:28), senior Alex Murray (19th 17:36), senior Will Clerx (26th 17:43), junior Kevin O'Brien (27th 17:46), senior Pete Corkery (35th 18:00) and junior Tom Marcotte (42nd 18:06).
11/14/09: The girls Swim Team had an outstanding day in the pool at MIT university. According to coach Kyle VanDenBerghe, "To do this, in this fashion, is really unbelievable." Lead by All-Americans Kendra and Erin Foley the lady Shamrocks scored an incredible 251 points to outdistance their next competitor by 100 points. Kendra won two individual events in the 100 butterfly (58.29) and set a school and meet record in winning the 100 backstroke (57.87). She also swam the anchor leg for the Shamrocks' 200 and 400 freestyle relay teams. Erin won individual titles in both the 200 freestyle (1:55.33) and 500 freestyle (5:06.11) a school record and also swam the first leg for the 200 freestyle relay in a school record time of 1:40.95 and the winning 400 freestyle relay teams.
11/14/09: the girls Volleyball team capped off a very good season by dropping a 3-1 decision to Bourne HIgh School.

11/2: Congratulations to the Varsity Cheerleaders. They had an outstanding performance at the OCL/EAC League qualifying competition held on November 2, @ Bridgewater/Raynham High School. They captured the League title and had a qualifying score that enables them to compete at the South Regional Tournament held on November 15, @ Taunton High School, (time, TBA).
11/2: Both the boys and girls soccer teams defeated Dighton-Rehoboth by a score of 3-0. Pairings for the MIAA tournament will be out this week. The teams should be seeded highly.
10/30: The Girls Soccer Team ran the slate clean in the EAC by going undefeated and un-scored upon in the EAC. The girls defeated Somerset by a score of 2-0. Their record with one more game to go is a nice 14-1-2. The Boys Soccer Team ran the EAC league by going undefeated in the league. The shamrocks, thanks to Coach Downy, were able to use the Attleboro High Soccer field yesterday to come away with a 2-2 tie. The Feehan Football Team took one on the chin on Friday night. Though the score was 14-14 at half, the Shamrocks couldn't put it together in the second half as the Bombadairs of Attleboro scored an unaswered 20 points for a final score of 34-14. The Girls Volleyball Team came back from a loss ot Melrose on Thursday to get a 3-0 victory over Durfee.
10/29: The girls swim team finished off their undefeated season with a 89-79 victory over New Bedford. The girls volleyball team lost to powerhouse Melrose 3-0.
10/28: The Varsity Cheerleaders will be competing for the EAC Title this coming Monday November 2 at Bridgewater-Raynham High School 7:00pm. Please come and support the team!!!
10/27: Another good day for the Shamrocks! The girls swimming team reamined undefeated with a drowning of Durfee by a score of 87-82. The girls soccer team defeated the Hilltoppers by a score of 1-0 and the boys soccer team played Durfee to a 1-1 tie. At this point in the season, the Bishop Feehan Varsity Sports Teams have a combined total number of losses of 10.
CROSS COUNTRY: The girls and boys had a great day today at the EAC League Meet. With 15 points the lowest you can score in a cross country meet, the girls went out and scored 15. They were led by senior Anisa Arsenault (1st 19:15), senior Erin Murphy (2nd 19:17), senior Jen Thomas (3rd 19:19), junior Viviana Hanley (4th 20:00), Sophomore Erin Svensen (5th 20:27), sophomore Abbey MacBeth (7th 20:47) and sophomore Katie Powell (9th 21:29). The boys also had a great day by scoring 19 points. They were led by senior Bobby McShane (1st 16:45), senior Alex Murray (2nd 17:06), senior Tim Gill (3rd 17:20), senior Will Clerx (6th 17:43), junior Kevin O'Brien (7th 17:51), senior Peter Corkery (8th 17:52), and junior Billy Looney (12th 18:09). 10/23: The football team took another step towards the EAC Championship with a victory over the Spartans of Bishop Stang. Final score was 36-6. Tommy Romero threw for 4 TD with 2 connections each to MIke Albert and Kyle Cataldo. The Girls volleyball team gathered their 2nd win of the season over Attleboro with a score of 3-0.
10/22 was another good day for the athletes of Bishop Feehan High School. The golf team had their best showing of the year with a nice low round of 226 to Dighton-Rehoboth's 267. The Girls Soccer Team continued to dominate the league with its 5-0 victory over Somerset. The boys soccer team continued their nice season by defeating Somerset by a score of 3-0. The volleyball team had to go to 5 games to get their 3-2 win over Somerset. This was all topped off by the 87-78 victory for the girls swim team over Apponequet.
10/20: Both the boys and girls cross country teams remained undefeated with victories over Dighton-Rehoboth on Tuesday. The boys won 20-41 while the girls went with a 16-45 victory. The girls swim team paced by Kendra Cheng and Caroline Capece gathered a 95-82 win over Milford. The girls soccer team played to a 2-2 tie with Notre Dame of Hingham.
10/17: The Feehan Football team took a right step forward with their league victory over Coyle and Cassidy on Saturday afternoon. The final score was 19-6. QB Tommy Romero, and running backs Kevin Boland and Zach Schwieger all scored rushing TD's.
10/17: The Bishop Feehan Girls Cross Country Team had a good day as they won the Bay State Invitational at Northfield Mountain. Led by seniors Jen Thomas (4th 19:34) Erin Murphy (5th 19:41) and Anisa Arseneault (8th 19:56) the girls scored 46 points to outdistance Hamilton Wenham who scored 56 pts. 10/15: The Girls Soccer Team continued their deluge of goals with a 7-0 shut out of the Spartans of Bishop Stang. The girls Swim Team remained undefeated with a 97-86 margin of victory over Westwood. The Girls Volleyball team rolled over Bishop Stang with a 3-0 victory. The Boys Soccer team were fit to be tie. All three levels of the team tied Bishop Stand. The varsity score was 0-0.
10/14: The boys and girls cross country teams defeated the Hilltoppers of Durfee High School today by scores of boys: 19-42 and the girls won 15-46. Both teams run their records to 5-0. The team next competes on Saturday in Northfield for a pre-state meet Meet.
Tuesday 10/12 was a great day for the Shamrocks. The Girls Soccer Team defeated the Warriors of Coyle by a score of 6-0. The Boy's Soccer Team also defeated Coyle by a score of 5-2. On the Golf Team, Sophomore Elizabeth Rubino, the only female on the boy's team shot a medalist round of 39 in defeating the Hilltoppers of Durfee by a score of 266-301. The Girls Swim Team lead by senior Kendra Cheng and Samantha Jankowski each won two events to lead the ladies to a 96-72 win. The Girls Volleyball team also had a nice day by defeating Coyle by a score of 3-0. WITH ALL THESE WINS, THE VARSITY SHAMROCKS OF BISHOP FEEHAN HAVE ONLY 7 LOSSES THIS FALL.

10/09: The Feehan football team defeated Martha's Vineyard tonight by a score of 35-7. Both Kevin Boland and Zach Schwieger scored twice. Tommy Romero also added a TD.

10/08: The girls swim team defeated Attleboro by a score of 83-73. Nicole Barrett finished first in the 500 free with a time of 7:04 her personal best.
10/08: The golf team defeate cross town rival Attleboro High by a score of 246-255. Mike Delude shot a 3 over par 39 while Ryan Keefe, Mike Pierard and Tim Rogers all shot 40.
10/08: The boys soccer team gained a 2-1 victory yesterday over Martha's Vineyard. Sophomore Devin Devoy scored his 9th goal of the season. Senior Anthony Cichetti finished off an corner kick for the first goal of the game.
10/7: Boys and girls Cross Country. Both teams gained victories today over our new league opponent Martha's Vineyard. The boys (15-46) had a five way tie (Alex Murray, Bobby McShane, Tim Gill, Will Clerx and Kevin O'Brien) for first place with a time of 16:37 over the 2.9 mile course. Anisa Arsenault and Erin Murphy crossed the line together in a time of 18:56 to help gain a 19-42 win.
10/4: Girls Soccer. The lady shamrocks defeated Warwick Vets of R.I last night under a fog filled field. The final was 4-0. Jess Miller, Sibhan Devoy, Alanna Fleming and Danielle Arsece tallied the goals for the 6-1-1 shamrocks.Click here for more details.
10/ 2: Friday Night Football: What a game. The shamrocks responded well to their loss two weeks ago to North Attleboro with an impressive win over Barrington R.I. Last year's loss to Barrington also served as motivation for the football team. Having great games were Kevin Boland, Zach Schwieger, and the entire offensive line. Final score BF 28 Barrington 7.

10/1: The volleyball team Dug Pink yesterday as they defeated Attleboro by a 3-0 score. Both Attleboro and Feehan used this as a Breast Cancer Awareness match. Both teams dressed in pink and the Feehan gym was packed with pink t-shirts. Click here for more details.
10/1: The boys soccer team fought Attleboro to a 0-0 tie. Ricky Blythe had a great day in net as he stopped 11 Attleboro shots. According to Coach Pariseau, "Ricky had a great day in net" The Freshman won 5-0.
10/1: The golf team avenged an earlier loss to Bishop Stang by gaining a 237-245 win. Ryan Keefe was the medalist.
9/30: Both the boys and girls cross country teams remain undefeated at 4-0 on the season with victories over the Spartans of Bishop Stang. The boys were led by Billy Looney, his winning time of 12:38 was good to lead the shamrocks to a 19-44 victory. The girls were paced by sophomore Abbey MacBeth and senior Jill Lynch as they tied for second in the girls 22-39 victory. The Shamrocks next travel to Seekonk on Saturday morning for a 9:00am showdown between two undefeated teams.
9/29: A good day today as the Shamrocks rolled over Bishop Stang on the day. The boys varsity soccer team won 3-1 Soph. sensation Devon Devoy scored 2 more goals. The girls Frosh, J.V. and varsity soccer teams all won, 6-0, 4-0, and 5-0 respectively. The J.V. and varsity volleyball teams won 2-0 and 3-0. The Golf team defeated Coyle and Cassidy by a score of 252-268. IT was a good day for the Green and White.

9/26/09: Cross Country-- Both the boys and girls cross country teams had great meets today at the Ocean State Invitational at Goddard State Park. The boys won the Varsity small school division by outdistancing St. Rose of New York by a 71 to 102 margin. Bobby McShane led the way with a 5th place finish in 16:39. The girls won the Championship Race with 62 points to out run Greenwich Central of Ct. by a close score of 62 to 69. Senior Erin Murphy led the way for the shamrocks with a personal best time of 18:54. Senior Jen Thomas ran 18:56 and junior Viviana Hanley ran 18:59.
9/24 The volleyball team scored a 3-0 win over Coyle. Their next game is tonight verses their opening game loss Westboro. Should be a good match! This is a reminder that next Thursday night Oct. 1 at the Feehan Gym the girls Dig Pink fund raiser for breast cancer will be played against Attleboro. Let's try to Jam the Gym.

Cross Country: On Thursday 9/10 both the boys and girls cross country team's defeated cross town rival, Attleboro High. The girls final score was 15-50 with a 5 way tie for first and the boys defeated the Bombadiers by a score of 16-47.
Golf Team: On Tuesday 9/8, the golf team defeated Somerset by a score of 246 to 287 and then on Thursday they defeated Coyle and Cassidy by a score of 257 to 258. Great job Coach Loew.
