Language Lab Receives Accolades

Feehan Language Lab Gains Accolades from Global Software Company

SANAKO, the global leader in language learning software, headquartered in Finland and New York, recognizes Bishop Feehan High School’s state-of-the-art language lab as a feather in their cap. Feehan’s language lab, introduced in 2006, is installed with the Sanako Lab 300 and is featured as a positive case study in their international marketing campaign. According to an in-depth study by Language Dept. Chair, Linda Ausiello, results are clear, that using their versatile multimedia language learning system, students have significantly improved speaking, reading and writing language skills. Furthermore, of the 244 seniors at Feehan who have completed their 3 year world language requirements, 86% have decided to continue their world language study. Even though there is some overlap with some senior students electing to study two or more languages, over 92% of the senior class is actively engaged in the study of a world language. Feehan’s language department offers courses in French, Spanish, Arabic, Mandarin Chinese, American Sign Language, and Latin.
