9/23: The girls cross country team continued to dominate their opponents with a 15-44 score. Our fantastic four of seniors Anisa Arsenault, Jen Thomas, Erin Murphy, and junior Viviana Hanley led the way with a 4 way tie in a time of 19:13. Sophomore Erin Svensen was pretty impressive also with a 5th place finish of 19:47. Next to follow were junior Shelly Magyar and sophomores Abby MacBeth and Katie Powell rounded out the top ten. The girls will be in the Championship race on Saturday at the Ocean State Invitational on Saturday at Goddard State Park in East Greenwich RI. See everyone there.
9/23: The boys ran against an improved Coyle team today with a 25-33 win. Coyle's Jon Mantia won the race today with top 20 all time performance with a time of 16:09. Sr. Tim Gill charged strongly to just miss Jon with a time of 16:12. Coyle's Zayac took 3rd but with Alex Murray, Will Clerx, Kevin O'Brien rounded out the top 4 and senior Pete Corkery, sophomores Mike Wood and Tom Marcotte wrapped it up for the Shamrocks. Our next meet is a nice challenge meet at Goddard State Park in East Greenwich RI. The meet starts at 12:30 with the girls in the Championship Race.
In our meet today against Somerset, the boys were led by Jr. Kevin O'Brien's 3rd place finish on the tough and confusing 3.1 mile Somerset home course. Kevin was followed by Jr. Tom Marcotte, followed by Jr. Billy Looney and then soph. Mike Wood. Freshman Henry Dodge had a nice showing by placing 8th overall and Feehan's 5th man. Their times were: 18:21, 18:39, 18:52, 19:04, and 19:21.
ON the girls side sophomores Abbey MacBeth and Katie Powell finished 1 + 2 to lead the shamrocks to a nice victory. Junior Shelly Magyar finished 4th, sr. Jill Lynch was 6th overall and Feehan's 5th runner. Senior Sarah Casali and junior Bridget Garrity rounding out the top 7.
In the meet v. Attleboro the five way tie for the girls were, Anisa Arsenault, Jen Thomas, Erin Murphy, Viviana Hanley and Erin Svenson. The boys were lead by Bobby McShane.
