Soccer (Girls)
Thursday October 3: The girls soccer team had to work for this victory over the once beaten Spartans of Bishop Stang. The victory clinched an MIAA Tournament berth. After gaining a 2 goal advantage, a couple of fluke goals knotted the score. Jen's 3rd goal came off a loose ball outside of Stang's penalty box area, as she was able to power a 14 yard shot for the game winner. Erin MacKenzie and Jordan Logue stared defensively for the Shamrocks. Another tester should come next Wednesday when the unbeaten Shamrocks host the unbeaten SCC power Dighton-Rehoboth.
Tuesday October 2: Great days for the lady Shamrocks as all three girls team gain shutouts over cross town rival Attleboro. Along with Devoy's hat trick Jen Leaverton continues to increase her school record for number of goals and points by adding the 4th goal. Not to be outdone, Quinn Lancor and Jen Warren combine for another shutout in net for the Shamrocks. Both the sub varsity and freshman girls gained shutouts over Attleboro by indentical scores of 3-0.
On Tuesday Sept. 25 the Feehan Girls Soccer team defeated the visiting Warriors of Coyle. Jess Miller had 2 goals, Erin Casey had 2 goals, Meg Zerba had 2 goals, Siobhan Devoy added 1 along with Jen Leaverton. Jen Warren and Quinn Lancor combined for another shutout in net.
J.V. girls also won 6-0 and the Freshman won 8-2. Great Job Girls.
Jen Leaverton scored her 72nd goal for the Shamrocks leading her undefeated Varsity girls Soccer team to an 8-2 victory over Durfee on Saturday. With that goal, Jen broke Britany Hogan's school points record as she secured her 104th carreer point.
Also scoring goals were Siobhan Devoy (2) , Jessica Miller (2), Jenna Roncarati (1), Erin Coyne (1) and Jamie Coyne (1).
Next game is home on Tuesday v. Coyle at 3:30.
