Feehan High School principal Bill Runey announced that senior Emma Creeden of Wrentham is the 2007 recipient of the DAR Good Citizen Award sponsored by the Attleboro Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. The program is intended to encourage and reward the qualities of good citizenship and is open to all seniors. Creeden was selected based on her outstanding qualities of dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism. Her extensive service background includes volunteerism at nursing homes, elementary school basketball camp and tryouts, Feehan’s Santa Shop, St. Josephs Food Pantry, Million Can March, Wrentham Developmental Center, and at St. John’s Parish in Attleboro. She is currently the president of both Bishop Feehan’s Student Council and senior class, captain of the varsity basketball and lacrosse teams, member of the National, Science, Spanish, and History Honor Societies, team captain of Feehan’s Peer Ministry program, treasurer of STAND (Students Take Action Now Darfur), and coordinator at Big Brother Big Sister Program. Creeden is now eligible to enter the DAR Good Citizens scholarship contest and ultimately receive a $3000 scholarship.
