FHS Mitten Tree 2007

Feehan’s Annual Mitten Tree Drive Biggest Ever

Bishop Feehan High School’s French Honor Society (FHS) gathered over 300 items during their 5th Annual Mitten Tree Drive, the largest donation to date.  The project, which collects mittens, hats and scarves for St. Vincent de Paul and Feehan’s Christ’s Closet in time for winter, was started by the FHS over 5 years ago when a student brought the idea to Feehan from her parish youth group.  It has grown over the years due to the response the students have received including tears of gratitude from St. Vincent’s directors who receive many requests every winter from families who cannot afford mittens and hats.  Donations come mostly from students, faculty and staff.  The need is great, as is the impression that is made on the students who participate.   French teacher and FHS moderator, Linda Aussiello responds, “May God bless you for your kindness.”
