What a Fall Season for Bishop Feehan Athletics!!!
In regular varsity season play the Feehan Athletic teams achieved a remarkable 90-11-8 record. That, ladies and gentlemen, is an 83% victory rate. Seven of the eight teams were E.A.C. league Champions. One team, girls cross country, went undefeated (9-0). Girls soccer, volleyball, and the golf team each had only one loss. The Football team is the Division II Eastern Mass Super Bowl Champions as a result of thrilling victories over Mansfield and Walpole (at Gillette Stadium). The boys and girls cross country teams were both Eastern Mass Division III Champions; furthermore, the boys went on to gain runner-up status in the All State Meet. In addition, the boys and girls soccer teams, girls volleyball and girls swim teams all participated in post season tournament play.
Super Bowl Champions: On a bitter cold night at Gillette Stadium, the improbable happened for Coach Tony Wood and the 2007 Shamrock football team. Underdogs through out the playoffs, the Shamrocks lead by Nick Linehan, Mike McGowan and Nick Schweiger, defeated the Rebels of Walpole High School and gained their 5th Super Bowl Title in seven years. The final score was 26-20. With the hands of Nick Linehan, the arm of Mike McGowan and the legs of Nick Schweiger, the Shamrocks played a beautiful game that came down to the wire. Only an interception by Linehan with less then 1 minute of play prevented the Walpole comeback. Super Bowl Saturday: December 1st come see the Feehan Shamrocks "Rock" Walpole at Gillette Stadium. Game time is 7:30--Tickets are $10.00 for students and $13.00 for Adults. Parking is Free. Tailgating is prohibited in the parking areas.
Tuesday November 27:
The Feehan Football team won what President Chris Servant says, "may be the most significant game in the last 25 years". The team won a stunning victory over heavily favored
Saturday November 17:
The boys Cross Country team finished second today at the All State Cross Country Meet held at the Gardner Municipal Golf Course. Hopedale H.S. outdistanced the Shamrocks by 25 points. The top five teams were Hopedale with 107 pts. Feehan followed with 132 pts., next came Oliver Ames 145, Winchester 166, and Wellesley with 176.
The girls Cross Country Team finished 3rd today at the All State Cross Country Championships. The winning team is the #7 ranked team in the Northeast hailing from the Bromfield School 67 pts. followed by Oliver Ames 76 pts., followed by the lady Shamrocks with 97 pts., next came Wellesley with 100 pts., and rounding out the top five was Holliston with 168 pts.
Saturday's J.V. Football game has been changed from 10:30am to 10:00am at Sandwich.
Saturday November 10
Both the boys and girls Cross Country teams are peaking at just the right time of the year. Both the boys and girls captured the Eastern Massachusetts Division III Championship at Franklin Park today on a cold blustery day. The boys scored 85 points outdistancing Oliver Ames High School and Wellesley High school who scored 128 and 151 respectively. The girls defeated the same two teams when they scored 84 points to OA's 101 and Wellesley's 110.
Friday November 9
The Football team captured the EAC title tonight along with a birth into the Super Bowl playoff by defeating Somerset tonight at McGrath Stadium 36-6.
The girls soccer team lost tonight to a very talented team from Weymouth. The final score was 3-1. Congratulations to Coach Pontes and Coach Messier.
Thursday November 8
The girls Volleyball team lost to a very tough Bourne team last night. The contest went to 5 games. A mesage from Coach Joe,
"Thank you all for your support of the volleyball team this past season. Our season came to an end last night with a very tough hard fought match with Bourne High School, we finish the season at 21-2. Our girls should be very proud of their great season, ... they played hard, never gave up and were complimented very highly by the Bourne Coaches and Administators. Thank you again for your support of the Feehan Family." Great job Coach, you and your staff are to be commended also.

Wednesday November 7
The girls volleyball team will compete at home on Thursday night at 7:00 pm in the MIAA Tournament semi-final match vs. Bourne. Admission will be charged at the event: $7.00 for adults, $5.00 for students.
Tuesday November 6
The girls volleyball team defeated Notre Dame Academy tonight 3-0. Click link for more details.
Monday November 5
The Girls Volleyball team will play at home Tuesday night at 7:00 pm vs. Notre Dame of Hingham in the MIAA South Sectionals.
The Girls Soccer team will play at home Wednesday at 3:00 pm vs. Norwood at McGrath Stadium in the MIAA Tournament.
Admission will be charged at both events: $5.00 for adults, $3.00 for students.
Friday November 2
The Girls Volleyball Team defeated Hyde Park tonight. 25-2, 25-4, 25-5. The team will play next on Tuesday at home against the winner of the Notre Dame v. Rockland.
Feehan Football Team defeated Durfee tonight 36-7. Details to follow
The Girls Soccer Game is still scheduled for Sunday at McGrath Stadium on Sunday at 1:00pm
Boys Soccer Game scheduled for Saturday has been moved to Sunday 11/4 at 2:00pm on Walsh Field!
Saturday's MSTCA Cross Country Meet has been postponed until Sunday. Same schedule at Saturday.
Tuesday October 30:
Girls Volleyball team (19-1): The lady Shamrocks finished off Coach Joe Readon's 15th year as head coach with a 3-1 victory over Medway today. This has been Coach Joe's most successful season ever. Good luck to Coach Joe and the EAC Champion Shamrocks as they move on to state tournament play this week.
Monday October 29:
Girls Volleyball team (18-1): The girls volleyball team defeated Old Rochester 3-0.
J.V. Football team continues their undefeated season with a 16-6 victory over cross town rival Attleboro. Tom Romero scored on a QB sneak and Josh Agostini rambled in 28 yards for the second score. Stan Pachuk converted on both PAT's and Tom Scannel sacked Attleboro's QB for a 2-point safety.
Saturday October 27:
The boys Cross Country team dominated the Eastern Athletic Conference Meet today taking the first 7 places at the Wrentham Developmental Center’s 5K course. Sophomore Bobby McShane finished first (17:29) followed by John Cook (17:30), Dave Phipps (17:36), Nate Bowditch (17:54), Ethan Loew (18:00), Pat Lucas (18:04), and Joe Germaine 18:09). In the J.V. meet Senior Captain Justin Barnes on his first race back, recovering from a stress fracture won the Sub Varsity race in a time of 18:25. Senior Captain Neil Dold closely followed him in 18:36 and Junior Bill Warren was 3rd in 18:37. For complete results please see EdLine.
The girls Cross Country team had similar results as the boys when they took the first five places, six of the top seven and seven of the top 12. Sophomore Jen Thomas led the way today with a time of 19:49, she was followed by junior Katie Barrett 20:24, Senior Captain Mary St. Thomas 20:38, Senior Captain Meg Looney 20:50, sophomore Anisa Arsenault rounded out the top 5 at 21:08. In seventh place was senior Grace Johnson in 21:24, and Kristen Lovering rounded out the top seven when she finished 12 with a time of 21:55. For complete results please see EdLine.
Friday October 26:
The Bishop Feehan Shamrock Football team emerged victorious tonight in a hard fought battle against cross town rival Attleboro. The final score was 15-14. It was a great high school football game where both sides played very well. More details to follow.
Thursday October 25:
Girls Soccer (16-0-1): Feehan was tested by a strong King Philip team, but came away with a hard fought 5-4 victory over the Warriors. Jen Leaverton scored a hat trick, including the game winner at the 49th minute of play, to go along with Jenna Roncarati's two goals to win the game. The Shamrocks will travel to Dighton-Rehoboth on Friday to finish out the regular season v. this once beaten team.
Boys Soccer (11-2-5): The boys soccer team tied a school record # of wins for the season when they defeated the King Philip Wariors 3-0. Mike Doherty had a goal and two assist, to go along with Dan Galvin's goal and one assist, and Kyle Morrissey's goal. Matt Sears had another shutout in goal.
Girls Volleyball 17-1: The girls volleyball team ran their record to 17-1 as they gained a 3-0 victory over the Hornetts of Mansfield. Follow link for more details.
Tuesday October 23:
Boys Soccer (10-2-5): The Galvin brothers Paul and Dan had a great day as they combined for 2 goals and 4 assist to defeat Coyle today 5-1 which gave the Shamrocks a share of the EAC league title.
Girls Swim (8-2-1): Both Kristen Connors and Erin Foley placed 1st in three events today to secure a 95-82 win over the Hilltoppers of Durfee High School. Connors won the 50 freestyle (27.46) while Foley won the 100 butterfly (1:06:22) both were also on the winning 200 medley (1:58.11) and 200 freestyle (1:49.17) relay races. Senior Liz Keenan qualified for the state meet in the 100 backstroke (1:08.22) and junior Danielle Bessette qualified for the sectional meet with a time of 1:17.16 in the 100 breaststroke.
Monday October 22:
The Feehan girls volleyball team suffered their first lost of the season losing to powerhouse Medfield by a 3-0 score. Follow link for more details.
The J.V. football team remained undefeated today with a 19-0 victory over the Stang Spartans. The first score of the game was a two pointer, as Nick Cataldo and Dan Effler sacked the Spartan QB in the end zone for the early lead. On Feehan's second possession Tom Romero was able to hook up with Josh Agostini for a 7-yard strike for pay dirt. Stan Pacuck continues to improve, as his leg strength was able to connect on a 30 yard FG. In the second half of play the only scoring came when Romero was able to hit Nick Cataldo on a 50-yard pass. After Cataldo was taken down on the one-yard line, Kevin Boland was able to punch the ball in for the final score.
Saturday October 20:
Bishop Feehan Football Team: The Feehan Football team spoiled Bishop Stang's Homecoming festivities by defeating them 25-7. Follow link for more details. The Feehan freshman football team enjoyed a nice victory over Bishop Stang this morning by securing a 28-12 victory. Nate Robitaille got the scoring off to an early start when he took the opening kickoff back 70 yards for Feehan's first score. On a fullback trap, Garrett Briggs scampered 25 yards for the second score. O'Brien McHayle took the ball on a reverse and was able to run by the Spartan defense for the Shamrocks 3rd tally. Robitaille was able to use his arm instead of his legs for the final score when he hit Tom Munger on a 10-yard pass for the final score. Coach Gazzola was proud of the Frosh team and noted that they played well and was a good team effort.
Bishop Feehan Girls Soccer: The girls soccer team ran their record to 15-0-1 with a 3-0 victory over league rival Somerset. Jenna Roncarati, coming off her first hat trick in the previous game, got things started at the 35:34 mark of the first half, when she put the Shamrocks on the board off an assist from Shannon Clancy. Three minutes later Siobhan Devoy tallied another goal with Roncarati getting the assist. In the second half Jen Leaverton scored her league leading 22nd goal of the season putting the Shamrocks up 3-0. Jen Warren and Quinn Lancor combined for the shutout once again.
Bishop Feehan BoysSoccer: The boys soccer team ran their record to 9-2-5 in a hard fought tie (1-1) against a tough non-league Sharon Team. Fighting back from a 1-0 deficit, Kyle Morrisey knotted the score in the 32nd minute to secure the tie. Matt Sears came up big again in goal as he had eight saves in net. The Shamrocks will host league rival Coyle and Cassidy on Tuesday at 3:30.
Thursday October 18:
Girls Soccer (14-0-1): Jenna Roncarati scored her first hat trick of her high school career which led the lady Shamrocks to a 7-1 victory over Coyle-Cassidy. She even added two assist for a 5-point production for the junior center-midfielder. In addition to Jenna's prolific output, Jen Leaverton had one goal and two assist, freshman Jess Miller one goal and one assist, Meg Zerba and Jamie Coyne each had a goal. Quinn Lancor and Jen Warren were again stellar in goal as they continue to share the duties of the net.
The girls Volleyball team continues the streak and goes to 16-0. The Shamrocks rolled 25-9, 25-19, 25-17.
Girls Swim (7-2-1): The girls gained an 86-77 victory over Apponequet today. Sophomore Kendra Cheng set her second school record this week when she clocked a 24.69 second time in the 50 freestyle. Her other school record was set on Tuesday when she set the new mark in the 200 freestyle. The lady fins travell next to Fall River to challenge Durfee on Tuesday afternoon.
Boys Golf (11-1): The boys lost a tough one today to Coyle at the John F. Parker Golf Course. The final score 260-266. The team will be playing in the State Team Qualifying round on Oct. 22 at 8:00 at the Norton CC.
Wednesday October 17:
Boys and Girls Cross Country: The girls finished off their season with a perfect 9-0 record. Today's 15-50 victory over Coyle and Cassidy marks the first time in 3 years that the girls finish the perfect season. This years seniors will leave the team with a 34-3 record. Nice job girls. Today Seniors Grace Johnson, Meg Looney, and Mary St. Thomas all tied for first with a time of 20:16 over our home course. The next 5 Feehan runners also tied for 4th with a time of 20:18.
The boys team was even more dominant today when they took the first 19 places in today’s victory over Coyle. A two-way tie for first between Captains Neil Dold and Mike Umberger highlighted the day. Their winning time was 17:20. Next was an 8-way tie for 3rd. The boys finished their season 8-2. Nice job boys.

Monday October 15:
The boys Golf team went to 10-0 today at Heather Hill CC when they defeated the Spartans of Bishop Stang. Junior Owen Lynch and senior Evan Landry both carded 1 over par 37's while senior Luke Gagne shot a 38. The final score was 237-261. The linksters host Somerset on Tuesday at the Pawtucket CC.
The girls volleyball team was tested today by North Attleboro. This was just the test the team needed as they come to the end of their season and begin to prepare for the tournament. The long sets went 25-21, 25-20, 25-15.
The girls soccer team was also tested today by Franklin in a non-league match. The girls secured a hard fought 2-2 tie when Jen Leaverton broke through a pair of Franklin defenders and scored off a Jenna Roncarati pass at 77:10. Feehan had the lead at 15:35 lead when sophomore Siobhan Devoy took advantage of a Franklin defensive error and scored the go ahead goal. "It was a hard-fought match, which is what we need this time of year," said Feehan coach Paul Pontes. The girls will host Somerset on Tuesday at McGrath Stadium at 3:30.
J.V. Football remains undefeated. The sub varsity team secured a 21-0 victory over Coyle & Cassidy today. WILL TRAVERS, a defensive nose tackle, scored the only TD of the first half when he took a deflected pass off of linebacker Nick Cataldo to ramble in 20 yards for the score. It was Will's first TD. In the second half, Tommy Romero continued his passing streak when he hooked up with Mike Albert and Dan Effler for two more scoring completions.
Saturday October 13: Oh, What a Day for the Shamrocks on their Homecoming weekend!!!!
It all started off early this morning when the boys and girls Cross Country teams traveled to Franklin Park in Boston to participate in the prestigious 16th Annual Bob McIntyre Bay State Invitational Cross Country Meet. It was here that both the boys and girls teams turned out victorious. The boy’s team won a close one over Hopedale High School by a slim 5-point margin, 62 to 67. The girl’s team had a slightly greater margin of victory over high touted Hamilton-Wenham High School with a 79 to 98 victory. Each race had 34 of the top teams in Massachusetts. With their victory, the boys team might very well move up to # 1 in the Massachusetts Division II rankings. The girls will likely move from # 8 this week to # 2 behind the nationally ranked Bromfield School from Harvard Ma.................................................................................................................................... Then it was off to the Volleyball courts at Home v. Durfee with a 3-0 sweep of the Hilltoppers.................. The action then went to the Soccer fields where both the boys and girls teams gathered victories over Durfee with the girls remaining undefeated with a 6-0 victory and the boys also over the Hilltoppers by a score of 2-1. The girls JV soccer team also had a win over Durfee 5-1 as well as the JV boys again over Durfee by a score of 3-1...................................................................................................................................... It was all capped off by a convincing homecoming Football victory over league rival Coyle & Cassidy 45-21.

Thursday October 11:
Girls Volleyball (12-0): The girls team clinched at least a tie for the League championship with a 3-0 victory over Bishop Connolly today at home. The three game sweep was as follows: 25-8, 25-9 and 25-9.
Girls Soccer (11-0): Too many goals to describe so here is the wrap up of the game. Jenna Roncarati 1 goal 3 assist, Jen Leaverton 1 goal 1 assist, Siobhan Devoy 1 goal 1 assist, Meg Zerba 1 goal, Kathryn Wald 1 goal, Sam Varnerin 1 goal, Hannah Cote 1 goal, Spencer Driscoll 1 goal, Erin Hines 1 goal.
Girls Swim (6-2) The girls team gathered another victory today with a 95 - 85 victory over Westwood. Erica Devine was the 50 freestyle and was a member of two first place relay teams. Danielle Bessette won the diving event and took 2nd in the 500 freestyle.
Boys Soccer (8-2-2): The EAC 5-0 Shamrocks clinched an MIAA tournament berth with a 5-0 victory over Bishop Connolly today. Senior Paul Galvin scored a pair of goals.

Saturday October 6:
The Feehan Cross Country Team performed admirably today at Whitman Hanson. On a very hot afternoon the Feehan boys, lost for only the 2nd time this year to powerhouse Whitman Hanson. The good news came when the boys gathered their first victories over Brockton and Xevarian. The girl’s team remained undefeated by handing both Fontbonne and Brockton losses. The J.V. Football team gained a thrilling 16-13 victory today at McGrath Stadium over undefeated Mansfield. Tommy Effler gathered up a Mansfield fumble and rumbled 40 yards for Feehan's first TD. Teddy Schwieger's sack in the Mansfield endzone gathered another 2 points with the safety. Tommy Romero's razor pass to Mike Albert 25 yards away in the endzone secured the win for the undefeated Shamrocks. Great job boys!!!!!
Friday October 5:
The Feehan Football team lost to a talented Mansfield team tonight. The final score was 29-7. Feehan's one scoring drive covered 70 yards and was capped off by a Mike McGowan 10 yard run into the end zone. Feehan opens up its EAC season with the big homecomming game next Saturday October 13. One of the high lights of the weekend will be the celebration of Sr. Pat's 50 anniversary. Good luck to the football team and Sr. Pat.
Thursday October 4:
Boys Soccer: (7-2-2) Spreading the wealth, Mike Doherty, Corey Cassarella and Kyle Morrissey each had a goal and Dan Galvin and Jack Tobin had one assist each as theShamrocks defeated the Stang Spartans 3-2 in EAC action.
Girls Soccer: (9-0) Three more for Leaverton. Her three goal tally gave the unbeaten girl's team a 3-2 margin of victory over the Spartans of Bishop Stang.
Girls Swim: The lady Shamrocks improved to 6-1 yesterday with a victory over cross town rival Attleboro. With a sweep of the 50 and 200 free the girls scored an 88-76 victory.
Boys Golf: The 9-0 golf team continues to dominate play. At the Swansea Country Club, Evan Landry and Mike Pierard shot a 36 and 39 respectively to lead the Shamrocks to a 241-280 victory. They next play Bishop Stang on Wednesday Oct. 10.
The girls Volleyball team continues to roll 3-0 improve record to 10-0. Girls soccer wins over Stang 3-2, details will follow. Boys soccer are also on a roll, as they defeat Bishop Stang 3-2 details also to follow.
Wednesday October 3:
Both the boys and girls cross country teams continue to cruise through the E.A.C. With the top 7 boys and top 5 girls sitting this one out for some extra training, the boys were able to shut out the Spartans 15-50 and the girls were able to coast to a 17-46 victory.
October 2: Great day and night for the Shamrocks all around.
Boys Soccer: After a scoreless first half, and then going down by a score of 1-0, the boys team, took their agressive play and put three quick goals into the net to secure the victory.
Girls Soccer: Siobhan Devoy's hat trick leads the girls team to a 4-0 shutout over the Bombardiersof Attleboro.
Girls Volleyball: Both the varsity and junior varsity girls program gain victories over cross town rival Attleboro. Varsity 3-0 J.V. 2-1.

Saturday September 29: The Bishop Feehan Boys Cross Country team had a strong showing at the New Balance Ocean State Invitational.
A solid pack of Shamrock runners paced the team to a second place finish in this tough division. With 231 runners representing 32 teams the boys team placed 2nd behind Somers High School out of Connecticut. Led by the pack of Bobby McShane (12th 17:17), Nate Bowditch ( 17th 17:22), Dave Phipps (18 17:22), Ethan Loew (22 17:34) and Pat Lucas (43 18:02) the Shamrocks scored 112 points to Somers' 63. Feehan was followed by Hopedale (177 pts) Whitinsville Christian with 192 and then Hanover Ma with 238 points. This strong showing will help the Shamrocks as they continue to climb to the top of the MSTCA's Division II poll. Great Job Boys.

Friday September 28: Bishop Feehan drops a heart breaker to La Salle 14-7.
After a scoreless 1st quater, La Salle got the 2nd one off to a quick start by scoring the first TD of the game going up 7-0. La Salle would score in the 3rd quater on a 27 yard TD pass to go up 14-0. Nick Schwieger would score the only Shamrock points of the night on a 25 yard run in the 4th. Stan Pacuk would add the extra point. The Shamrocks run their record to 2-1-1. The Rocks can't afford a let down this week as they take on a very good Mansfield team on Friday night at Alumni Field in Mansfield.
Wednesday September 26:
The boys and girls Cross Country teams continued their outstanding season on this very hot and humid day. The boys defeated the Somerset boys by a score of 16-45. Dave Phipps lead the way with his 16:52 time on our 2.9 course. Ethan Loew, Nate Bowditch, and Bobby McShane gathered a three-way tie for second place. Their performance was a comfortable 17:21. Tuesday September 25:
Golf: The boys golf team runs their record to 6-0 with a 261 - 264 victory over Bishop Stang.
The boys soccer team defeats Coyle and Cassidy today 5-0.
The girls Volleyball team continues their domination at the nets! Another 3-0 match brings the Shamrocks to an 8-0 overall record.

Monday September 24:
The Feehan Girls and Boys Cross Country teams continue on their winning ways. Grace Johnson wins her first varsity race to help keep the girls team undefeated. Girls win 15-50 while the boys win their meet 20-42.
Junior Varsity Football team win a close contest 27-21.
Saturday September 22:
Boys Varsity Soccer: Matt Sears leads the Shamrocks to victory with another shutout in net. Bishop Feehan 2 Durfee 0
Girls Varsity Soccer win over Durfee 8-2, Girls J.V. Soccer also win over Durfee 5-0.
Girls Varsity Volleyball win over Durfee 3-0 and move their record to 7-0, Girls J.V. Volleyball win over Durfee 2-0.
Girls Swim: Sophomore Kendra Cheng led the Shamrocks to a victory over Ursuline when she won both the 100 and 200 freestyle. Julie Magyar, Liz Keenan, Danielle Bissette and Kristin Connors each had individual wins also.
Friday September 21:
Football Feehan takes Hingham to the Shed with a score of 28-14.
