2018-19 Faculty Opening - Certified Librarian

Bishop Feehan is seeking a part-time, qualified and certified librarian for 2018-2019. The librarian will be an important member of a steering committee guiding Bishop Feehan’s library through the transformation from library to learning commons. In addition, the librarian will be responsible for the management and organization of all print and electronic collections, and other data resources. The librarian will monitor the circulation of materials, and provide assistance and instruction to students and staff with the use of the library’s print and electronic resources. 20 hours per week.

Administration Opening - Vice Principal of Academics

Vice Principal of Academics

Bishop Feehan is seeking a Vice Principal of Academics. The Vice Principal of Academics is a primary academic leader at Bishop Feehan. He or she is also a prime culture and climate builder. The ideal candidate can manage all technical and organizational duties, and will be most successful in building relationships. In this work he or she will model the Mercy Charism of Bishop Feehan High School. The school leadership team will collaborate with the V.P. of Academics to, as a team:

DUTIES:

  • Support the mission of Catholic education.
  • Manage all school operations with Principal
  • Create and maintain master schedule
  • Manage student information systems: PlusPortals and Rediker
  • Oversee and coordinate grading and portal procedures
  • Supervise and evaluate department chairs and faculty
  • Oversees support staff, including but no limited to: guidance head, department chairs, librarian, academic resource center
  • specialist, technology integration coordinator, and technology operations manager, PLC staff
  • Collaborate with Principal on mentoring and induction
  • Co-develop the school calendar and monthly activities in partnership with the Principal and Vice Principal of Student Life.
  • In conjunction with the technology integration coordinator oversee the formulation, planning, and implementation of a staff
  • professional development PLC program for school personnel and co-direct the program within the school.
  • Administer entrance and placement exams
  • Collaborate with chairs and Principal with hiring
  • Maintain Program of Studies
  • Administer academic discipline issues
  • Schedule all school-wide academic events, including but not limited to midyears, finals, AP tests
  • Actively implement and defend school academic policies, including but not limited to leveling, AP placement
  • Collaboratively oversee and administer awards nights, honor society inductions, and scholarships
  • Manages AP Potential program
  • Manages 21st century skills school-wide learning program, with technology integration coordinator
  • Chaperone school functions
  • All duties assigned by Principal


Must be certified or certifiable as Principal/Assistant Principal, in 9-12 by Massachusetts DESE, hold a Master’s degree in Educational Administration, or be able to demonstrate commensurate knowledge; Have high school teaching experience;High school administration/instructional leadership experience preferred.

Must have demonstrated organizational skills, educational leadership and creative problem solving skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills; and, the ability to manage multiple, simultaneous tasks, including the ability to prioritize, manage and organize own workload.

Staff Opening - Head Coach - Boys Varsity Basketball

Bishop Feehan High School is seeking applicants for the position of Varsity Boys Basketball Coach.

Bishop Feehan is seeking a highly-qualified program leader to build-upon and continue a legacy of highly-competitive basketball and – more importantly – highly successful development of young men on- and off the court. Feehan -- located in Attleboro, MA – is a member of the Eastern Athletic Conference and participates regularly in the MIAA Division II South tournament.

Qualified candidates will have a bachelor's degree (or higher) with a minimum of several years of coaching experience. The varsity head coach will be responsible for all aspects of a successful program from the freshman level up through varsity –motivating, challenging and developing young athletes in a multi-sport environment, helping the AD create a competitive non-league schedule, and – if desired – helping to lead a successful summer basketball camp program. Leadership and sportsmanship is a must.
