Q.
What is it?

It’s a fancy name but not that complicated of a night.  “Legends & Legacy” allows us to combine our traditional Athletics Hall of Fame induction and Distinguished Alumni event and combine those with a reinvigorated Arts of Hall of Fame induction – all celebrating those who leave their marks on Feehan in special ways.

With our new on-campus “Shamrock Recreation & Events Center” (a.k.a. “The Rock”), we can now host events like this right on campus. We’ll have cocktails, heavy hors d'oeuvres and plenty of time for socializing and catching up with old friends and new.  The night will be heavy on connections and light on long speeches (none!), while we still celebrate the contributions of some special Shamrocks.

Q.
Who should attend?

This is a night for those who want to honor Feehan’s traditions and stars of our past and present. Perhaps you know one of our honorees and want to help celebrate their accomplishments.  Or perhaps you just want to be part of this annual Feehan tradition. All are welcome!

Traditionally, family members and classmates and friends of honorees are a big part of the audience. And we also often see current and past faculty members and coaches and moderators and a good number of friends of Feehan, who love to be part of a Feehan celebration.

Q.
What’s going to happen that night?

We’ll get started at 6:00 p.m. with a social hour that will feature a cash bar and great food (think “heavy apps” – you won’t leave hungry). Then, you can grab a drink and another plate, as we introduce our seven honorees and celebrate their accomplishments.  From then on, the night is for our honorees and guests, and we can stay open as long as the catching-up is good. The twin goals: celebrate and thank our honorees & a great time for all.

Q.
What’s the dress code?

Great question.  We expect folks will come looking nice, but we know it’s a Spring Friday night.  Honorees and some guests will likely be dressed up, but a “Friday night out” dress code is appropriate, too. Safe to say that guys are good in slacks and shirts with buttons. Dressy jeans even work. You’d fit in with a jacket, and a suit is probably overkill. Ladies, do you have that sundress that you’ve been waiting to break out? You will hit the mark with a nice blouse and skirt, jumpsuit, or sundress.

Q.
So, how can I get involved?

Tickets are available to this exciting evening here. We’d also love for you to spread the word. Bring friends and share this Web page, especially with people who might know our honorees!

Q.
How are honorees chosen? Can I nominate someone?

Carefully and Yes!

We try to solicit many opinions when deciding on Legends and Legacy honorees. Our athletic department and coaches (past and present) help us decide on athletics hall of famers… and our arts department (past and present) help us choose arts inductees… and Feehan’s advancement office and alumni staff select distinguished alumni honorees.

But – with 11,000 graduates and even more current and former parents and Feehan friends – we love nominations.  Please email Alison Badhwar (abadhwar@bishopfeehan.com) with any suggestions. Thank you in advance!
