Bishop Feehan High School President Tim Sullivan and Principal Sean Kane are proud to announce the students ranked in the top three positions of the class of 2018, as the school prepares for its 54th Commencement on May 31, 2018, at 7 p.m.
Christine Schremp (Attleboro) was named the valedictorian for the class of 2018, and will address her classmates at the graduation ceremony on May 31.
Schremp will attend Brown University in the fall. No stranger to academic success, Schremp belongs to seven Feehan honor societies and serves as president of the Science National Honor Society. She is a two-time first place winner of the Massachusetts State Science and Engineering Fair and was chosen to attend the national American Academies for Advancement of Science Conference by the publishers of Science magazine. She has been recognized as a Harvard Book Award recipient and a Bausch and Lomb Honorary Science Award winner. Schremp can also be found spending time with the mock trial team, playing guitar and piano for the Jazz Band, or volunteering at Brennan Middle School with the Amigos Mentorship Program.
Christine attended St. John the Evangelist School in Attleboro before entering Feehan.
Naman Madan (North Attleboro) was named the salutatorian for the class of 2018 and make a salutatorian address at the school’s Baccalaureate Mass on graduation day.
Madan will be attending Cornell University in the fall. Madan is an inducted member of five National Honor Societies - Spanish, English, History, Math, and Science. Madan is the captain of the boys tennis team, captain of the Math Team, president of the Spanish Honor Society, and vice-president of the National Honor Society. Madan was the recipient of the Bertie Green Travel Scholarship, an 11-day trip to Guatemala and Honduras sponsored by the Spanish Honor Society. He is a two-time Gold Medal winner of the National Spanish Exam, and is the recipient of the Yale Book Award. Madan spends his free time volunteering with the Amigos Program, and served as a teacher volunteer at Hari Vidya Bhavan in Warwick, RI.
Naman attended the Foxboro Regional Charter School before attending Feehan.
Cassandra “Cassie” Schifman (Mansfield) was named the Tree Dedicator for the class of 2018 and will lead her Class in the ceremonial tree-planting on campus on graduation day.
Schifman will be attending Brandeis University in Waltham, MA as a Humanities Fellow next year. Cassie currently serves as the president of the English National Honor Society and is an inducted member of six additional academic honor societies. Cassie has been awarded multiple Scholastic Awards for writing–most notably a gold key and American Voice Nomination in Personal Essay/Memoir and a gold key in Poetry. She was a state finalist in the Lions Club Youth Speech Competition, and was the top negative speaker in the Southeastern Massachusetts Debate League. She was also recognized as a National Merit Commended Scholar. Schifman is involved with the debate team, mock trial, color guard & marching band, as well as the literary magazine. Schifman was also heavily involved in the Amigos program at Feehan, serving as an English language tutor ELL students at Wamsutta and Brennan Middle Schools in Attleboro.
Cassie attended St. Mary-Sacred Heart School in North Attleboro before attending Feehan.
