Veteran assistant coach to lead Shamrock setters
ATTLEBORO, MA – Bishop Feehan High School is proud to announce that Heidi Bruschi has been named the Shamrocks varsity volleyball head coach, effective immediately. Bruschi takes over for former head coach, Joe Reardon, who stepped down this past fall.
Bruschi brings years of coaching experience and an accomplished background as a high-level volleyball player to her new role at Feehan. She has coached a variety of different volleyball programs at Mass Premier Courts in Foxboro, served for five years as a volunteer assistant at Feehan, and prior to that had a two-year stint as the Head Volleyball Coach at Walpole High School.
"We couldn't be happier than to have Heidi join our head coaching staff," said Feehan Athletic Director Christan Schatz. "Heidi brings a wealth of knowledge, a positive outlook, and a strong faith to our already successful volleyball program. I cannot wait to watch the program grow to new heights under her leadership.”
A native of Arizona, Bruschi has extensive playing experience, playing four years at the varsity level for Sahuaro High School where she was a three-time captain and the Arizona Player of the Year. She competed for six years for the Club Cactus Volleyball Program, and her 1992 club team ranked 7th nationally.
She went on to play her college volleyball at the University of Arizona where she was a four-year starter as an outside hitter and defensive specialist. Serving one year as captain, she finished her career as an Academic All-American, and she currently ranks sixth on the all-time U of A career digs list and is the all-time Leader for consecutive games played. Her team made three straight NCAA Tournament appearances, advancing to the round of 16 in 1993.
"I am honored for the opportunity to coach the Feehan family of volleyball players,” said Bruschi. “Volleyball is a sport I’ve loved all my life. I look forward to providing a positive experience for the girls.”
Heidi has a bachelor's degree from the University of Arizona in Special Education and Rehabilitation.
Heidi and her husband Tedy have three boys, T.J. '19, Rex '20 and Dante '23, all of who have been or are student-athletes at Bishop Feehan High School.
