CORI Requirements

Safe Environment Training and CORI Requirements for Volunteers:

Bishop Feehan and the Fall River Diocese are committed to the protection of all of our students.  Accordingly, all of our faculty and staff and all of our volunteers must complete Safe Environment training and a CORI (background check) before working or volunteering at Feehan.

For volunteers, the requirements are:
1. Register on the One Feehan Volunteers Portal.
2. Complete all aspects of the Safe Environment Training from the diocese.  This is now done completely online and includes watching a couple of videos and answering some questions.  The link to complete this training is here:
Please Note:
a. This is a new system, all volunteers need to complete this training this year (2018-19).  This Safe Environment Training will be good for six years once it is complete.
b. You only need to do this once for all Fall River Diocese entities, St. John the Evangelist (SJE), St. Mary-Sacred Heart (SMSH), or St Mary School (Mansfield) parents can do this once for both their schools or parishes.
c. If you are dropping off food or supplies for Teacher Appreciation, you do NOT need a CORI.
3. Email your certificate of completion (provided to you electronically at the end of the training) to
4. Complete a CORI background check by printing and completing this form (download here) and taking a photocopy of your current driver's license and submitting that via email volunteers@bishopfeehan.comIf you would like to take a picture of these documents and email them as a PDF, please follow these directions

*ATTENTION RHODE ISLAND RESIDENTS:  All Rhode Island residents need to download, fill out and submit the ORIGINAL, notarized copy of this disclaimer, allowing us permission to request an out-of-state background check.  This form MUST be notarized - please contact Lauren Cayer ( to set up an appointment for notarizing.
Once all are submitted and the CORI process is finalized– you're all set!  Your CORI status will be marked as "yes" in our One Feehan Volunteers software system, and then volunteer leaders will be able to reach out to you.
We know this is a bit of paperwork and time (thank you!), but we also know that the protection of our kids makes this worthwhile.
