Founded in 1961, our community includes more than 13,000 graduates around the country and the world.
We are in an exciting moment of institutional momentum — strong enrollment demand, a clear strategic vision, innovative academic programming, and continued investment in our campus and people. This is a great time to join Feehan.
Position Overview
The Senior Director of Marketing & Communications is a senior leadership role responsible for building and stewarding the Bishop Feehan brand across all audiences and platforms. Reporting directly to and collaborating closely with the President, this individual serves as the school's chief brand and communications officer — shaping how prospective families, current students and parents, alumni, donors, and the broader community understand and connect with Feehan's mission and momentum.
A note on scope: This is a small-but-mighty department, and the Senior Director is a working leader — someone who writes, edits, designs (if able), manages relationships, and stays close to execution. At the same time, we work with a talented roster of contractors and vendors who carry significant production and design work. The job is to lead that ecosystem effectively while staying genuinely hands-on yourself.
Key Responsibilities
Leading the Department
- Direct the overall marketing and communications function, including strategy, prioritization, and quality control
- Manage one part-time staff member, with the opportunity for additional resources as the school approaches a capital campaign
- Source, manage, and evaluate a roster of contractors (designers, photographers, writers, printers, web developers) who support production and creative execution
- Serve as the internal point of contact across departments for communications needs, ensuring consistent brand standards school-wide
- Develop and execute an integrated marketing strategy aligned with the school's strategic vision and enrollment goals, maintaining consistent brand voice and visual identity across all channels
- Partner with the Director of Admissions on enrollment marketing campaigns, overseeing the full prospective-family communications journey from first inquiry through enrollment decision
- Partner with the Vice President of Advancement and the advancement team on donor communications including appeals, campaign materials, impact reports, and planned giving collateral, and develop alumni engagement content that sustains connection to the Feehan community
- Lead the editorial planning and production of Cornerstone, Feehan's semi-annual alumni magazine, directing external designers, writers, photographers, and printers to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery
- Oversee the school's website, social media presence, email platform, and digital advertising — managing content calendars and tracking analytics to optimize performance
- Collaborate with local media to share Feehan stories strategically
- Develop and maintain systems for clear, mission-consistent internal communication to faculty, staff, students, and current families
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in marketing, communications, or a closely related role — including some leadership or supervisory experience
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute integrated marketing strategies across multiple channels
- Experience and comfort using professional design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or equivalent) and managing design projects of multiple types (print, digital, more)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including confident editorial judgment
- Experience managing vendors, contractors, or agency relationships — directing creative work and holding partners accountable to brand standards
- Strong project management skills; able to manage multiple initiatives across competing deadlines
- A genuine commitment to the Catholic mission of Bishop Feehan High School and the ability to communicate that mission authentically
Preferred
- Experience in an educational setting, ideally with exposure to both enrollment marketing and advancement/development communications
- Familiarity with digital marketing tools, CMS platforms, and email marketing systems (specific platforms are secondary to general fluency)
- A track record of managing or launching a publication, campaign, or custom brand initiative from concept through delivery
Leadership & Culture Fit
The Senior Director of Marketing & Communications is a visible leader within the Feehan community. We're looking for someone who:
- Leads with initiative, humility, and a service orientation
- Builds genuine relationships across a school community — with administrators, faculty, co-workers, families, alumni, and students
- Brings creative ambition balanced by strategic discipline and practical follow-through
- Communicates with warmth, precision, and purpose
- Is comfortable being both the strategist in the room and the one who writes the caption, preps the media list, or proofs the printer file — because that's what working in a school like ours sometimes looks like
Compensation & Benefits
Bishop Feehan High School offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package including health and dental insurance, a 403(b) retirement plan, professional development support, tuition benefits, and generous PTO. This is a full-time, twelve-month position.
