High School Placement Test (HSPT)
The HSPT is a nationally-recognized private school entrance exam.
Bishop Feehan requires all 8th grade applicants to take the HSPT. Our admissions panel employs a holistic approach. Test scores are just one factor considered as part of a larger comprehensive application review process. In addition to test scores, students' application, academic record, personal essay, discipline history, and principal/counselor recommendation are all evaluated.
We invite 7th grade students to take a practice HSPT exam at Bishop Feehan on either 12/2 or 12/9.
8th Grade Students: Please register HERE using your Ravenna profile.
7th Grade Students: Please register HERE at least 1 week prior to exam date.

While students take the HSPT on December 2nd and 9th, families are welcome to join Principal Sean Kane as he provides an in-depth look at the following:
- Feehan’s academic programs
- Leveling and course placement
- Academic Resource Center (ARC)
- Pathways to Advanced Placement courses
- PSAT & SAT
- Transition to high school
- Social and emotional wellness
Test Location:
It is strongly recommended that students interested in attending Bishop Feehan High School take the HSPT exam with us.
In the event you choose to take the HSPT exam at another testing location, please complete the following steps:
- Provide Bishop Feehan with the testing location and date via email for inclusion in your student's application file
- Contact the testing school's admissions department and request that your test scores be shared with Bishop Feehan ([email protected]) as soon as possible
- When registering for HSPT, please request that scores be shared directly with you
We will reach out again as the test date approaches regarding timing and drop off/pickup details. In the meantime, please reach out anytime with questions.
Test Fee: The test fee is $25.
Test Preparation: Families may wish to utilize this HSPT study guide or practice test to familiarize themselves with exam format and content.
Students testing in top percentile are eligible for Honors Pathway at Bishop Feehan.
