Elizabeth Ann Doyle, RSM (formerly Sister Maria Clare), age 83, a Sister of Mercy for 65 years died on Friday, November 25 in Providence, RI. Betty attended St. Leo School, St. Mary Academy, BayView, Salve Regina University, and St. Michael’s College. In 1957, she entered the Sisters of Mercy. She taught at Cleary School in Providence, St. Peter and Paul School in West Warwick, and St. Joseph, in Pascoag, before joining Bishop Feehan for eleven years from 1970 through1981.

Betty saw education as both her giving knowledge to students and discovering knowledge with them.  Her love of imparting and receiving information was a hallmark of her ministries after she left the formal classroom. She later ministered at LaSalette Spiritual Life Center in Enfield, NH; Mercy Lodge in Cumberland, RI; and Our Lady of the Cape Parish in Brewster, MA. At her final profession she chose as her motto “to bear witness.” As a teacher, spiritual director, parish worker and friend to so many she bore witness to God’s love and mercy through her words and actions.

Diane Elaine Crane (Nash), age 81, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 1, 2022, in Franklin, MA. She attended Maine Central Institute, the University of Maine, and Bridgewater State. Diane spent 33 years in classrooms at Meriden High School in Connecticut, Stoneham High School, and Bishop Feehan, where she taught English, Latin, and Spanish from 1986 through 2008.

Diane loved sailing the Atlantic Coast and skiing throughout New England. She was also an avid Boston sports fan. Her love for sports carried through to her grandchildren, as she loved standing on the sidelines for most of their events, providing constant support and motivation for them.
